You can export your desktop to wherever you want. Its natively built into X11. Read up on X11 exporting desktops. I do it all the time. You need to think about what Ries said about safety. Given that I can't believe you expect EMC2 to have anything to do with this. This is an OS/GUI function not an EMC2 application function.
