Well, I am not sure to be honest. I loaded motmod like this -

loadrt motmod  num_dio=4

when I change the num_dio=4   to num_dio=8   the error changes to this -

"ERROR: INDEX OUT OF RANGE, 255 NOT IN [0..8]
(increase num_dio/EMCMOT_MAX_DIO=64)"

And the dmesg changes to -

"Not enough memory to load pin statlight"

Thats the next pin down in my IO file.

Is it possible you are putting the DIO _value_ in the DIO _number_?
