Thanks for all the feedback folks. I am new to Linux and this forum, but HOT
DAM I am excited about the possibilities of Linux and EMC2! So bear with me a
little bit as I eagerly noob and fumble my way into this world.

- First off: Updating to Adobe Reader 9 as we speak. Honestly its just a
program that never gave me issues till now and all I have ever used it for is
PDF viewing. Sad but true...just being honest here.

- The control PC is currently being built (ie parts strewn across my desk right
now). Its definitely going to be a dedicated Linux Ubuntu 8 system. No way out
of Windoze on my primary PC because I am a Solidworks user and I don't think
there is a way around that.

Very soon here I will be getting my CNC controller and PC working together.
They will live in my office for a bit while I get used to running code on them
and I will also be doing the retrofit on my mini mill in the shop. After the
mill comes the lathe and eventually a mid-sized router.

Suffice it to say I have big plans and will likely need a little guidance here
and there. I will be sure to do my homework and borrow brains only when mine is
insufficient.
