There are several virtual machine environments, I use VMware. They don't make it real obvious, but I think they still have a free "viewer" that allows you to run a virtual Windows environment on a Linux PC. I don't use this in my CNC machine, but do use it on my desktop. I find Windows 2000 Pro is VASTLY more reliable under VMware, and it allows me to do safe web surfing and email (Linux) and CAD (Win 2K) on the same machine.
