I THOUGHT those things looked DAMN familiar.  They are gear sensor 
wheels from an
IBM line printer.  Now, maybe they saved time by taking teeth off 
commercial timing pulleys,
but I'd check the profile carefully to make sure it is not going to 
prematurely wear out the belt.
