I just talked to Bob Schuppel at Synergy. $250 will now get you 2D plus 3D wireframe. It does not get you Solids ( aka parasolids with extensions) Wireframe is more difficult to use than Solids but pretty powerful. Bob was telling me about a case in Solidworks that would not machine. In wireframe they corrected it to a machinable object. :-)
Now that IMO is a pretty good deal.
