For large areas silicone's are wonderful; especially if you use the primer first. I tend to prefer urethane's. You might want to take a look at Sonneborn SL1 or NP1. SL1 is a flowable, self-leveling product. NP1 is thicker more like the usual silicone. They air (moisture cure) just like silicones. I think they are tougher. If you don't use the whole tube then you can preserve it for awhile by extruding a bit of product then cap off with Al foil.
