I think those goggles probably saved my life. If you look at an Xray of an eye socket, you will see there is not much there to stop a projectile. The bone is very thin behind your eye. I won't elaborate further. It was a while before I used a table saw again. So I look at safety equipment a lot differently now than I did back before that accident. Just an FYI - the Sam's Club near me (Part of Walmart) sells Ansi approved wrap around style safety glasses in a bulk 6 pack. The package cost is about $13.00 or just over $2.00 per pair and they are good glasses. They sell them tinted or clear. They also work fine beneath a face shield. :-) I just pitch the safety glasses when they get scratched and pull a new pair out of the package. And for about $2.00 per pair I don't hesitate to pull another pair out of the box if I misplace a pair. Disclaimer: I don't work for Sam's or Walmart... I just buy some stuff from them.
