OK, 2 of our products worked fine when tested for the first time with 
the D510MO, but an old version of one product
did not communicate.  The newer version of that board had a completely 
revamped bus interface vhdl module, and also worked.
I did not analyze the problem in depth, but I think the problem related 
to timing of the WRITE/ signal to the strobe, it may
have been going away too soon.  I latched WRITE/ when recognizing the 
strobe and it fixed the problem.

So, the D510MO has a subtle difference in timing of (I think) WRITE/ 
that never showed up on other motherboards.

It is possible that differences in cables could make it work in some 
configurations and not others.
