It will have backlash, you can't make it go away, only reduce it. 

Adjust the leadscrew nuts and gibs to reduce any slop but still allow
smooth movement and take light cuts. Column flex can be a problem with
Taig mills. Also look for movement in the connectors between the
steppers and the leadscrews, especially if using the stock Taig ones.
