Some of the Mesa Smart Serial (SSLBP) cards can have variable pinouts
depending on operating mode.
For example, the 7i76 has mode 0 (digital in, digital out +
step.encoder.spindle), Mode 1 (all the above, plus 4 x analog inputs)
and mode 2 (all the above, plus the analog inputs, plus the field
voltage)

Currently the hal file parameter is sserial_mode0=0123xxxx to
configure the cards on port 0, and sserial_mode1=xx21x200 to
conffigure port 1 (where "x" disables a card).

Unfortunately, the docs say "sserial_modes=" (note the plural). So I
need to change one, or both, to be consistent. I would just change the
docs, but I have had it pointed out to me that the parameter name is
not as clear as it could be and that, for example I could use:

sserial0=01234xxxxx
sserial_0=01234xxxxx
sserial_port0=01234xxxxx
sserial_port_0=01234xxxxx

Which would be preferred? Or does anyone have a better idea?
