Basic physics really. AC induction motors only care about the voltage presented to their leads, and don't care at all if one of those leads is grounded. The only time it might count is if the motor has been over heated at some point and now has a short from some unk point of the windings to the motor frame, which in the real world has to be grounded anyway. Absent that unwanted connection, its only consideration is that the AC power presented to it within its operating envelope.
