I use Axis on a machine with mouse and keyboard. I open a terminal window, and generate my G-code there, use an editor to stitch the files together and put it in the directory where LinuxCNC can find it. I don't think anybody "programs at the machine" using Touchy, they have a laptop or something nearby for programming.
