I just read more of the thread... If you're not using Mesa hardware for
the rest of your system, you may be better off with Pico Systems
drives. Two reasons:

1. Your motors are 433 Watts continuous, whereas the 8i20 is a 2200
Watt drive. That's bigger than you need.

2. The 8i20 uses a serial interface to control it (Smart Serial
Protocol) and AFAIK only Mesa systems hardware supports this. To add
analog voltage control you need to add a 3c20 board to the 8i20 which
adds to the cost.
