As I recall, I simply didn't have the space for the three-balls. My
drawbar fits in the original drawbar bore.
When you add up the diameter of the outer tube, the ball diameter and
the pull-stud it ends up being larger overall than the collet design.

My plan was always for an automatic  toolchanger.
