Probably a pretty good pair of subs, primarily because they can generally 
be loaded slightly heavier than the ls versions, AND will, generally 
speaking, have a much wider noise threshold than the ls versions.  The HC 
family stuffs pull rail to rail whereas the ls has a logic zero output that 
is often above .3 volts, and only pulls to about 3.2 volts for logic 1's.

Not a lot of change I hear some say, but the differences in the noise 
margins can make or break things in a room full of pwm servo motors and 
current regulated by chopper stepper drives.
