An nVidia GPU in Quadro mode renders *everything*, even if it slows down the framerate. Applications for a Quadro include pre-rendered video that will be played back later, so it doesn't matter if the rate is spot on during rendering. In GeForce mode they're most often being used to generate real-time rendering, usually in games. It doesn't matter if some elements don't get rendered because that usually only is visible for a short time and gone. Many boards with nVidia GPUs can be switched to act like a Quadro simply by moving, removing or adding a few surface mount resistors or jumpers. That's been possible at least as far back as the GeForce 2. What you don't get with such a hack is more/faster video memory and a higher GPU clock speed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Own the Future-Intel(R) Level Up Game Demo Contest 2013 Rise to greatness in Intel's independent game demo contest.
