Greetings all;

I am working on some code that probes the part to locate it pretty close,
part being held between 2 sheets of dbl-sided pcb in the vise, and using
the actual mill, turning slowly in reverse to detect the g38.2 contact.
This part works well, but I note that when the probe is done for each side,
I had turned off the spindle as I was repositioning the bit to probe the
next of the 4 sides, there were times when the stop was very brutal and the
ammeter needle pegged at 3+ amps. That, by deduction, told me the
reversing relay was actually putting it back in the fwd direction for a few
milliseconds before the drive went down from the PWM cessation.

So I hacked into the .hal file and added an or2 and a timedelay module to
the mix such that the reverse relay was enabled ASAP, but its release was
delayed about 50 milliseconds. And while it helps, I don't think its
enough.

So what I need is for Steve to advise me about the actual delays in the PWM
detection in the PMDX-106 card, fall times in particular, so I can make
sure this is sufficiently delayed and I don't see much if any surges as the
relay releases and the braking resistor is applied.

Steve?

Thanks.

Cheers, Gene
