I know both, C and ladder. With classic ladder I can see/monitor all 
bits/bytes in real time, which helps a lot in debugging.

When my spindle "thing" is running in ladder, it's easy to convert to a 
comp.... (C, python, ...)

Anyway, this does not answer my question. Is it possible to separate 
ladder programs and is it wise to do so?
