You can thank the de-industrialization of the High School shops for that! The educational idiots in this country bought into the idea that "Manufacturing has no future".
Now, everytime I visit a machine shop, I get the same question... "Do you know any good machinists looking for work??" Recently I was shocked when I went into a machine shop in Michigan who said that they can find a good machinist in a couple of days .. But of course Michigan lost a large number of shops during our "recession".
