The problem now is that if Z is sitting anyplace up to about 4.5" from the spindle, the home switch, sensing the bottom rear gib of the carriage, is closed. So I need to cobble up something in hal that will run x in .1" to make sure its open, and run Z toward the spindle until it runs off the switch, then allow it to go to the normal home sequence. Thanks John. > On 4/19/2014 4:36 PM, Gene Heskett wrote: > > Greetings all; > > > > Where I was more or less forced to mount the Z homing switch puts it > > in a position where quite a bit of its work envelop has it closed, > > with it opening about 3/4" from the chuck when running toward the > > chuck. > > > > So I either need to run it pretty close to the chuck (watch the tally > > LED on the C1G BOB) before initiating the HOME procedure, or figure > > out a way to run the x in .1" to make sure /that/ switch is open, > > then run the Z towards the chuck until the Z switch opens, then do > > the rest of the home sequence. > > > > Kind of a PIMA, and I am wondering if I could cobble something up in > > the .hal file to do that. > > > > Suggestions?
