Stepper 4 in the 5i25 can be used for the C axis, actually A/B/C depending
on how you have it sitting on the table, that would be on the P3 connector
on the rear of the 5i25, just load the correct config to make it wherever
its sitting. That will of course push some of your I/O over to the P2
connector.

This is something I would like to see as a ". filename.ini" in the main
.ini file as it would greatly simplify the house keeping required to keep
3 configs synchronized for the first 3 axis's commonly used, adding the
4th one as appropriate for the job at hand. All 3 A-B-C . configs would
still use the identical .hal file.

Something that would be one of those "nice to have" options. In fact, it
seems like the best place to put that loadup would be in the machine menu
pulldown, under load A, load B, load C entries, all of which could be
defined as [4th axisA] [4th axisB] [4th axisC] stanza's in the main .ini
file. Much simpler than maintaining 4 or 5 otherwise identical configs
IMNSHO.

Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud about ways to simplicate the
configuration of the machine according to the job at hand. To me, that
would be at least as handy as bottled beer or pre-sliced bread.

Could it be done, say for 2.7.1?

Cheers, Gene Heskett
