Which was one of the reasons the new Z drive on my HF micromill, is a rotating nut. The screw is solidly anchored into the top of the heads moving casting and does not rotate. But its a good thing my shop doesn't have a ceiling as the screw sticks out about 2 feet when the head is all the way up the post. tsk tsk. > They seem to have un-necessarily removed material from round the ball > screw anchoring points, which seems an odd thing to do.
