Why on earth would a simple mistake get you permanently banned? I can certainly see disabling the person temporarily until they return, but banning them permanently would be kind of massive overkill for the situation.

So if people would just stop talking about it (myself included) it will no longer be an issue for anyone, no reason to even disable the person, and certainly no reason to ban them.
