Tom,

It wasn't the libraries (well, in a way it was, but...).  All the single
files I'd downloaded were corrupt.  When I downloaded the all-inclusive zip
file, I was able to open the .pro file and eeschema was able to open the
.sch files successfully.  I did have to move the libraries to the library
folder too, but before I'd downloaded the zip file, nothing worked.
