Each sserial remote communicates with an FPGA card via a dedicated port.
There are two ports on the 5i25 DB25 connector when the 7i77 firmware
is flashed. One is used for the 7i77 onboard D/A convertors and GPIO.
The other is made available for one expansion card.

With the right firmware (for example 5i25_7i77_7i74.bit ) you can add
a 7i74 breakout and a further 8 smart-serial boards to the second
header in the 5i25. (You could alternatively make your own adaptor and
use the two ports already present on the internal header with the
7i77x2 or 7i77_7i76 bitfiles and connect two further cards)
