Actually I think Fusion could be good at both of those tasks. I can't say about flame cutting because I don't have a flame cutter (other than a hand held Victor torch) But Fusion has an easy to use "2D mode" for making cut out parts and it can drive a lathe too. And mills and 3D printers.
