We also used closed loop leadshine stepper drivers in our project - they are somehow quite noisy (hum) but still need to findout are stepper motors so loud because of stepper drives or the reason are steppers alone. We use it on plasma pipe cutter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdLqBqbmIEE&t=21s
