Greetings all;

Looking for ideas I could snarf, I went to the wiki and while the wiki is
a decade old, all its links to pastebin have expired. Pointing out the
futility of using pastebin for long term storage.

If whoever did those original wiki entries, and use pastebin links for
the downloadable stuffs, might still have those .py and .xml files
gathering mold & bitrot, could replace the pastebin links with something
that will be valid until the rapture, it would be appreciated. Perhaps
the wiki software has its own facility for the links?

I see one box in the big display at integrating pyVCP with AXIS
(1jan2007) that would save some screen space if I can also insert a
halpin to control its background color, 4th one down on the right side
of that screenshot. At present I am using a label, and a number box,
stacked vertically, and need to tally a 3rd piece of data for each axis
of these jog wheels. If I can insert an additional halpin to control the
color of the background to indicate status, I could do that w/o wasting
more vertical space. But the descriptions of the boxes I am using do not
indicate an ability to control the background color.
This is what I have today, the bottom 4 boxes in the right panel.

This was generated by the 3 files: postgui_call_list.hal, postgui.hal,
and pyvcp-panel-tach-status.xml, all available in the same directory.

The whole maryann includes:
7i90-axis.ini
hm2-7i90-stepper.hal
automatic-spindle-gear-detection.hal

This last I got from one of you, but since I've yet to restore the
countershaft to driving the spindle, is not "fine tuned" and functional
yet. I finished making the first set of bearing driver tools Monday but
honeydo's & taxes & my back have discouraged me from tackling that just
yet, and I've got to make a trip to the eats store before I can start
today. Out of creamed cheese for Dee's breakfast bagel.

I'll have to pull the bronze ones, then take the pusher back to TLM, and
face the driver at an angle that puts all the push on the outer shell of
the needle cartridge, on its flattened, labeled face, reducing the
chances of bending that face with the push pressure. ATM its square for
pushing on the bronze bearings.

Code bits posted in case someone wants to borrow something. :) Be my
guest.

I don't consider that hm2-7i90-stepper.hal is complete as I'm considering
replacing the timedelay module with a retriggerable so it stays active
until 5 seconds after the last dial move. I am getting tired of it
timing out while I was playing, or waiting for it to time out before I
could do a touch-off as doing a touch off while its active does
something odd and it moves when it shouldn't at the end of the timeout
IIRC.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
