There are more "850" clones on eBay then you can shake a stick at. The good thing is they seem to use interchangeable replacement parts. Do make sure this is the case before you buy. Or if yo are really worried buy a spare heating element from the same seller.
With conventional solder I have a "real" Hako brand solder statin and the high quality closed loop temperature control is really needed. If you Weller is not of this type that yu have good reason to buy the combined type solder station. The old style open loop solder irons cool when yu tochthem to the part and the over heat what resting on the stand because the temperer is control only by the "wattage" and not a temperate sensor. IT yours lacks the sensor this is the time to fix that problem. The big thing is choose a Chinese 850 clone is parts availability, just take care of that now because in 5 years the design might change the the eBay seller will be gone.
