Those kinds of scopes are very low performance and what they really lack even of audio works a good "font end" that can ever attenuate high voltage signals or amplify millivolts.
The best value on today's market is the Chinese no-brand digital storage scopes but for not a lot more you can get a name brand Chinese scope lie Rigol. If you are debuging DIGITAL system then you are in luck because those way-cheap logic analyses work well. For under $20 you can get an 8-channel unit But they aren't good at all for seeing actual waveforms, just for logic. If you scope has vacuum tube in it, then it is past time to replace it. The new digital storage scopes are so much better The no-brand ones go for about $300 and better ones for $100 more. A new class of scope have mixed signal inputs and you can do things like decode commands going over a serial bus (like CAN) bus and use that to tigerger the analog sweep. So you can see, for example the motor current used right after some command is issued Then you can dump the data to a USB stick and take it to a computer. Or you can used the new Digital scope lust like your old Tektronix. If this is for some business use then for professional use you really should have a name-brand Chinese scope and good quality scope probes.
