If only such would work for my neck. Sometimes I'll lie on my back and hang my
head off the side of my bed then move it all around and get a POP, or while
standing or sitting extending my head forward with chin up. Sometimes it's loud
enough other people nearby can hear it pop.

Going to be 50 in May but for the past 5 or so years my neck has sounded like a
bowl of rice krispies with freshly applied milk when I move my head. Same for
my knees, loud enough for other people to hear whenever I have to squat down
then get back up. The rest of me is still in pretty good shape, I can pick up
and carry around an empty rear wheel drive car axle housing one handed, or lift
an iron V8 engine head with both hands - at least until the knees say "Stop
that!" Most of the time I don't have pain but a couple times a week the neck
flares up bad so I pop a couple of acetaminophen then have a lie down for about
an hour until they kick in. Doesn't help that around 6 or 7 years ago I
dislocated a vertebrae in my lower back just bending over wrong to pick up a
pair of socks. Went to a chiropractor who got it mashed back into place but
it's been slooooow recovering, with fewer times each year of suddenly feeling
like I've been smashed in the back with a hammer.

Some hyaluronic acid (knee grease) injections in my knees and neck would likely
take care of both, but the docs of course go "let's wait and see". One theory
is that a lack of that gooey stuff is what leads to joint cartilage breaking
down. Swallowing it in pills or smearing it on your skin does nothing, has to
be injected into the synovial capsules around joints to do any good.

Having a barrel chested, broad shouldered, long body, short leg build (like a
weightlifter) just ain't fun when the framework starts going to pieces.

Totally off the EMC topic, but I had been having trouble
with a sore shoulder, and thought it was
maybe arthritis creeping in.  But, it came and went
suddenly, so I got to thinki8ng it could be a pinched
nerve.  So, lay face down and hung my head over a thick
pillow, so the weight of my head would pull down and
forward, while my jaw pressed against the pillow.  I only
did this for a couple minutes.  No more pain!  After 3-4
days of relief, I am pretty sure it was a pinched nerve in
my neck.

I crunched a bunch of discs in my lower back about 20 years
ago, and was in major pain for 6 months.  When I drove my
car, I got stabbing pains in my knee, but that time I KNEW,
without any experiments, that is was a pinched nerve.

So, just something to think about.  But, if the shot worked
last time, then maybe you already know what causes it.
