Thank you, Andy.  Axis.tcl was the file I needed
to find.  I was able to get the .axisrc overrides
to do what I wanted once I knew what the widgets
were named.  I don't know why my grepping in
the source tree didn't turn up that file.

I think that the GUI is built by the axis.tcl file. You might be
better off editing that.
