Which is where that error comes from. IOW, that error came from dh-
buildpackage. Which is used AFTER the run-in-place build. That script:

!#/bin/bash
cd /media/pi/workspace/buster-linuxcnc/debian
./configure uspace
cd ..
echo 5 `pwd`
dpkg-checkbuilddeps
echo 7 `pwd`
dpkg-buildpackage -b -uc
cd /media/pi/workspace
mv *.deb buster-lcnc-debs/

I did have an additional buildpackage argument -nc to save rebuild time,
and that may have been the problem. I still get the docs deb's though.

I have the same scripts, modified for bullseye if its actually running
bullseye. But bullseye's python-3.9.2 breaks the linuxcnc build. That
build tree is a separate copy of the git clone since there will likely be
unique changes for bullseye.

If ever, Sebastion K. didn't sound very promising. I havn't tried
bullseye in a couple weeks though. I figure getting it into debian sid
has been a bit of a chore for all, and congratulations from a lurker, and
by bookworm release it will be buildable with the newer python3 whatever
it is.

Thanks Andy.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.
