Greetings Chris;
I've made a whole new Spider based hot end for a tronxy-400-pro, with an
LDO extruder sitting on it. I've replaced the x&y motors with stronger
versions, and intend to rig the bed heater for half line voltage power,
and the motors for 48 volt supply.
The original part fan is in its usual place, and I've made a thin
template to serve as a drilling guide to mount its IR sensor to the left
side of the fan housing, glueing it in place with the purple
disappearing glue, so 2 questions:
1; Trapped between 2 layers of PETG, how long do I leave the clamp in
place to let this wannabe glue set?
2; Do you have any experience with flipper instead of marlin?
The version of marlin that comes from tronxy is about as buggy as a 10
day old road kill in August, starting with a non working ABL and no m851
to set baby steps with. So setting a first layer height below about 2mm
is not possible.
And when I swap mobo's in the tronxy for the octopus high voltage
version I'll have to either fiddle with building a marlin that actually
works, or build flipper. So I need a comparison if you've ever used it?
Flipper seems to have a much faster devel cycle. But is it better?
Cheers, Gene Heskett.
