Hi John, I myself have to install and try the wireless one I purchased for the router. (The wireless MPG from the same supplier is working excellent by the way).
About the placement of the sensor, I vote for the permanent mounting solution, as long as you know you'll have enough working area for most of your jobs to avoid removing it frequently.
