This may be a silly question but why do you care?
In this day and age new PCs or slightly used ones are so cheap and reliable.
Install the latest working version of LinuxCNC and then if parallel port DB-25
compatibility is a requirement install two 7i92H boards.

Although it requires confirmation two lines like this in the HAL file:

loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="192.168.1.121" config=" num_encoders=2 num_pwmgens=1
num_stepgens=6"

loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="192.168.1.122" config=" num_encoders=2 num_pwmgens=1
num_stepgens=6"

With different IP numbers would work would it not?

Then referenced like:
setp   hm2_7i92.0.watchdog.timeout_ns 5000000
setp   hm2_7i92.1.watchdog.timeout_ns 5000000

Or am I missing something?
