Hi Peter,
Do you mean a SSerial card with multiple encoders/frequency counters?
Yes, that's what I need
A 7I90 could probably be convinced to do that
I was mostly inclined to the 7i53 because I like the screwed terminals
By the way. I've never done this before but can you plug several anything
I/O cards like 7i93 for example to a 7i94 or better yet to a 7i44? Or is
this only intended for daughter SSerial cards?
Thanks!

Subject: [Emc-users] Question about mesa 7i53
Hello guys, hope you're all doing well
I'm in the process of retrofitting a grinder and I'm deciding which MESA
combo I'm going to use.
I'm going to need to read lots of encoders because I plan to use gauges
for
"in process" outside diameter measurements. The idea is to feed the
output
of the gauges as a fixed 50% duty cycle variable frequency signal to the
mesa board.
The main concern to decide my configuration is: Is there a 7i53 like
board
that uses the SERIAL I/O interface instead of the 50 pin connector?
Thanks as always for your help.
Leonardo

And the 7i44TA's give you the screw terminals. They interface to the 3
50 pinners on the 7i90HD with short versions of those old SCSI-II cables.
