Quick question. What does the machine do at the end of say this operation. (4mm x 0.7mm tap) N6 G33.1 X1.500 Y1.500 Z-0.6 K0.0276 N7 G80 The Z==0.000 is the top of the work piece. The depth of the threaded hole is 0.6" so the spiral pointed tap clears the half inch thick piece of aluminium. The spindle is turning 50 RPM. If the G33.1 starts with Z==0.1000 when the spindle reverses out of the hole is it moved back to the starting position? If it starts at z=1.000" does it move up to 1.000" before it executes the G80? If I understand the doc's it goes back to the starting Z position. But the documentation doesn't say anything about needing the G80 but the CAM software I'm using adds that in. I can see it being needed for a G81 but not the G31.1 Thanks John
