Here are the ones that failed for me:

emms-source-file-default-directory


the variable that holds the alist of players.

One general comment: the emms customization var names are hard to
guess.

I suggest creating an emms-vars.el module, and then naming the
top-level custom settings emms-<name -- one thing that is making
the naming convoluted right now is that one needs to know which
module the option came from to be able to guess its name.
