A NOTE TO OUR READERS

There will be no formal sessions of the Commission on
Sustainable Development on Thursday, 14 April 2005.
Instead, delegates will have the day to consult informally
on the Chair's text, which will contain draft elements for
CSD-13's negotiated outcome. This text is being distributed
in Conference Room 1 from 9:00-9:30am on Thursday morning.

Because there will be no formal meetings on Thursday, the
next issue of the Earth Negotiations Bulletin from CSD-13
will be published on Friday, 15 April. This issue will
contain a full report from Wednesday's interactive
discussions, as well as on the Chair's text and initial
reactions to it.

Wednesday morning's session of CSD-13 featured interactive
discussions focused on strengthening the monitoring and
evaluation of water and sanitation services, and on
follow-up on water and sanitation. In the afternoon, an
interactive discussion took place on the linkages between
water, sanitation and human settlements, and on the
linkages between these themes and CSD's cross-cutting
issues. A complete summary of the day's discussions will be
available on Friday morning, 15 April 2005. In the
meantime, you can visit our CSD-13 website, which includes
photographs from Wednesday's sessions, online at
