Patch Set 1: Yes, I understand - by "performance improvement" I also meant the fact that threads are not being blocked (and do their work). You saw the problem reproduced in 3.5. You saw that with this fix threads are no longer blocked. It doesn't mean that this patch causes threads not to be blocked.
