I'm responding to an existing message, so in the Write window there's at
least one recipient, typically more (3-4).

The troubled computer is my work computer, so I'll only be able to check
it on Monday.

However, on my home computer (same setup - Win10 64-bit, TB60, Enigmail
2.0.8, gnupg 2.2.9) the pEp logo also flashes up briefly at the bottom
left of the compose window, but there are no hangs. At least not noticeable.

I can confirm no pep-json-server is running on the home computer.

I do see the following two lines in the Enigmail log file though:
2018-08-18 10:33:55.801 [DEBUG] pEpAdapter.jsm: initialize:
2018-08-18 10:33:55.801 [DEBUG] pEp.jsm: registered log handler

I'd expect not to see any pEp log messages when pEp is forced off.
Thanks.
