I am most certainly never going to do that!  I mean sure I do use a
fully encrypted hard drive, but the thought of a private key sitting
there with no passphrase gives me the exact opposite of a "peaceful,
easy feeling."  I do close the laptop when I walk away, but at least
with the passphrase I know it "won't let me down, cuz I'm already
standing on the ground."  :)

In any case, the matter is settled:  the option is obsolete due to the
move to GnuPG 2.x.
