Why would that make it more complicated for the majority of the users if
they'd still have the same interface as before?

There's no need to show them which encryption method is being used if
only one is available. Or have the button rotate through three states if
only two exist.

But it would be different for people who use both and who'd be able to
tell (and choose) which standard is being used more easily.

After all it's just a thought I had, because it annoyed me. If others
don't have that problem, I'm fine with doing the extra step. :)
