i think this entrance sound bug may be related to the bad pam handling with entrance atm ?

i say 'may' because i avoid pam and can only guess that it's being a pita :)

That's correct. The module "pam_console" is used. This set's up the right ownership of devices by looking at /etc/security/console.perms. The erronous use of pam_close_session gives the user the right permissions, but removes them just before the users session starts.

Should I make a patch for entrance?
