Well, I don't get any of this on any of my systems, so I'm going to
need your help to fix this stuff.

You do now.  :-)  (Or at least, you will when the appropriate cron job
runs.)

I have just committed some libast changes.  If you could please test
it again and send me the autogen output like before, I'd appreciate
it.  Please make sure the ChangeLog file contains the commit dated
"Mon Aug 22 23:02:03 2005."
