Actually since it's read-only you're probably right. It would be
very desirable to keep the connections sticky though, so if they
update consecutively they don't end up with 2 different servers (and
possibly significantly changed CVS trees). It'd be a nightmare after
a while, I imagine you'd need 3 or 4 new vitriolic e-bawt messages. :)

Not really if we require rotation mirrors to sync up at least once
every 2 or 3 hours and set the TTL on the DNS to a day. I don't see
any huge problems there, do you?
