Why does debian/ubuntu need additional files special for debian in the release 
tarballs? Those
should be distro independent and every distro should the packaging itself or 
did i miss something here?

Since i have not seen any feedback recently, the randr related issues i have 
reported are probably
still around and need to be fixed.
