Well, as per IRC I tested elm stuff and it works good there...so must be 
something in e_widget_textblock.

As per IRC, evas was built with:

--prefix=/usr --disable-install-examples --enable-scale-smooth 
--enable-scale-sample --enable-convert-yuv --enable-buffer --enable-pthreads

Going to do a little digging into it myself. I'll let you know what I 
turn up.
